Educational content

The MMF Behavioral Institute provides educational information for parents and caregivers. Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, or clinical advice, and it is not a substitute for individualized care from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), physician, or licensed clinician who knows your child.

Content on this site describes general principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Individual children differ; strategies should be adapted with guidance from professionals who know your child, and nothing here creates a provider–patient or analyst–client relationship.

What the final terms will cover

  • Acceptable use of the website, resources, and courses
  • Intellectual property in Institute content, and personal-use permissions for families
  • Program terms for pay-for-data contributions: state eligibility, usability criteria, compensation by grant, and withdrawal
  • The licence a contributing family grants us: which uses it covers, that each use is granted separately, how long it lasts, and which parts cannot be reversed once software has been trained
  • What a licensee may and may not do with contributed footage, including bars on identifying anyone, reselling, sublicensing, and using footage outside the purpose it was licensed for
  • How a child's own agreement is recorded alongside a parent's permission, and what happens when that child reaches adulthood
  • Terms for the video observation service: that a BCBA describes what is visible in the footage and stops there, giving no recommendations, no plan, no diagnosis, and no treatment, and that the service creates no provider relationship
  • The condition attached to that service, which is the behavioral research permission rather than a fee. A family grants it, the footage joins the research corpus, and the family is neither charged nor paid. The resource library and the courses carry no such condition
  • The restriction that separates a research or nonprofit licence from a commercial one: the licensee may not sell anything built on contributed footage, and needs a commercial licence, which pays the family, before it can
  • Disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution
